Out the front of Chung King Mansions. Bright, brash and gaudy. The faux jade tile of the actual Chungking Mansions mall speaks of the wealth and affluence that its visitors seek, but rarely gain.

Inside the Chungking Mansions Mall. Note the exposed piping and fans. This area gets very hot in Summer, but doesn't have any actual cooling.

  1. That’s was a chungking good post! In fact it reminded me “Chungking Express” is on my Asian movies to see list. And Starbucks? Well, they’re much better than the Dome and Gloria Jeans franchises, which is what we’re stuck with here in Perth (apart from the good smaller coffee bars and cafes). 🙂
